2010 Junior Presidents Report

We are about to commence season 2010 and I would like to welcome all parents and junior footballers for what will be an exciting and productive year on and off the field.

Our Junior Committee have put in many hours during the off season to ensure that the 16 junior teams who take to the field this year are given every opportunity to learn the skills of the game, enjoy our football environment and be proud to represent the Torquay Football Club with pride.

We are thrilled to announce that MCDONALD’s TORQUAY have continued their great support for our juniors and signed a three year naming rights deal. Their support over many years is greatly appreciated.

Luke Raynor, our club coach, has again committed his involvement with the development of our junior coaches and junior players.

Age specific coordinators have been appointed to ensure the well-being of players in each age group and give support to the coaches and team staff.

This year we have developed a mission statement and charter for the club which we would encourage you to read as this will form the basis to which the club will grow and develop into the future.

Our registration day was a huge success with just over 300 children now registered for the junior club and over 70 children for Auskick.

We are excited to be holding our Reach for the Sky 2 day football clinic to be run during the school holidays.

This is a great program designed to give our kids AFL accredited coaching over two days on our home ground and is very affordable to paid up Torquay Tiger players.

To the new families joining the club for the first time a warm welcome and I am sure it will be an enjoyable experience.

To all our players, coaches and support staff good luck for the upcoming season.  It's going to be a very enjoyable and rewarding year for our junior and senior clubs.
