Netball Grand Final Preview

The Torquay Netball Club has 4 teams through to the Grand Final - being only second to Drysdale (7 teams) for the most teams taking part in Grand Final day!

Torquay juniors have done the Club proud by posting some great wins over the past 2 weeks securing their places in Sunday's showdowns.

Netball v Ocean Grove

With the last home game for the season playing out over the weekend, Torquay’s teams rallied to post some fantastic results....mixed with some disappointing ones.

A Grade were looking to finish the season off with a win but were unable to stop a committed Ocean Grove side looking to overtake Torquay on the ladder.

Netball: Tigers v 'Seas

Torquay had a mixed day against Anglesea this weekend with all senior sides except C going down in tough physical games.

A Grade had a good start to the match, trailing by only 1 goal at quarter time.

Robyn Hepworth and Jo Warnes worked hard together down the attack end but were unable to match the results of Anglesea’s attackers who drew away to finally take the game by 20 goals.

Netball: Torquay v Modda

With the footballers enjoying a bye this week the netballers headed off down the highway to Modewarre for some great competitive games.

B Grade, C Grade, D Grade and both 15U sections posted wins for the day with A Grade, 17U 2’s and Friday nights 15U sides the only teams not to win.

A Grade’s winning streak came to a halt on the weekend with their 15 goal loss to a strong and physical Modewarre.

Tigers Roar!

Torquay’s A Grade side turned the competition on its head with an upset win over premiership contenders Ammos.

It was a game that fluctuated quarter by quarter but the girls were able to re-focus and take advantage of defensive turnovers.

Anna Masek stood tall for the Tigers in defence rebounding endlessly and turning over many passes with great defensive pressure.

Netball: Torquay V Ocean Grove

On our first true wet winter day of the season Torquay Netball sides fared well across the board, taking home the honors in all but 2 games for the day.

A Grade stole the points from Ocean Grove in a game that was tightly fought from start to finish.

Great defence from Keirlie Shepherd and consistent and accurate shooting from  Jo Warnes saw them both in the teams best.

Torquay V Drysdale

Mixed results came in for Torquay over the weekend with the junior sides showing we have a great future in the BFL and the senior sides taking it up to a very strong Drysdale Club.

A Grade showed some great form throughout their match but were unable to go with the Hawks all game.

Trivia Night

Torquay Tigers Football & Netball Club are holding their Annual Trivia Night on Saturday the 5th June at 7pm.

Come along and bring your friends and family for a great night out to support your Club.

Spot prizes and a silent auction will also take place.
